I have a 07 Dakota to which I have installed a ham radio. The antenna has a low SWR 1.2 to 1 and I am getting RF interferance into tne trucks electrical system. The coax,RG58X, Runs from the drivers side floor board, up to the dash and over to the standard radio,to my FT857D which is mounted under it. I have placed ten coax chokes on the cabin coax line which seem to be of some help if I run only 50 watts. Dodges service department could not resolve the problem just cleared the computers fault codes. When I called Dodge direct, they stated extra components add would void the warranty even though in the back of the owners manual it states a ham radio should be feed with coax. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
