Took my D to get it aligned today, and they said my lower ball joints were bad. I thought they might be getting bad, I occasionally hear a noise when I pull into my driveway. I called to find out a price on lower ball joints, and found out you can't replace them, just the lower control arm at about $150 a side.

Has anyone had to replace these yet?

I've got the factory manual, so I'm not to worried about.

Any tips?

I've almost got 80k miles on her.

You can find them online for about $85 a piece and replace them yourself. Will need a ball joint removal tool. If not shoudn't take longer than a 1/2 hour labor per side at a mechanic. Stay away from the dealership.

Just press them out and push the new ones in?
