The dealership replaced a squealing pinion bearing a couple months ago and I never really paid any attention to that area since the noise was gone. We are getting ready to go on vacation so I had to change back to the stock wheels/tires since my normal ones limit my towing capability, they're 3 sizes larger than stock. Anyway, there is gear lube all over the rear wheels!! I pulled the fill plug and the fluid was still above that level and it drained about 8 to 10 ounces out. The gear lube was dry on the wheels, and none leaked out on my 50 mile commute to and from work today. My question is, what should I do now? Are my axle seals shot or is it normal for excess lube to come out in this manner.
We're leaving for vacation Friday morning so I need help fast!!!
Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated,
Ron
