hey guys...im 17 and i got a 2002 ram 1500 5.9 for graduation...i have had it for maybe a week. i was at the girls house around midnight on wednesday and she thought it would be funny to egg my truck. i told her do it and see what happens so she egged the rim..i got in my truck and took off down the street turned around and came back the other way...i took a sharp turn to leave the neighborhood and lost the back end..it went up over the curb and back down i went across 2 lanes and up the other side through about 3 or 4 trees (little ones) and through a brick sign...one of the ones that says the name of the neighborhood your entering...lets just say the sign is gone and the trucks bumper got pulled off and a dent above the light...these things are tanks...and to think i was about 30 min from buying a z28 camaro...

I would guess this is a good example of why our insurance rates are so high, or your parents in this case.
Having said that boys will be boys and I did something similar, was a grass bank in the country side, in my fathers car when I was 17. Try explaining that one.

Relax dude. When you said "lets just say the wall isn't there" I took it as if you just left.
But I still don't understand why you did what you did? I guess you really showed her!
I'm not here to school you, but I just think about things like who could have been near/sitting on that stone wall at the time you crashed into it because you were driving recklessly.

Accidents don't just happen. You yourself said you lost the back end making a sharp turn. You were traveling to fast. I know you think you'll live for ever but some of us old farts who have been driving for years might just know something. Experience does take time and the skills take time to learn.

I say good for drive how you want If everyone was the same life would suck I like seeing crazy stuff like that aslong no one gets hurt which no one did, What a learning excersize how I see it, What happens if the next time you have to do it like that to save someones life then you are a hero. Good learned lesson.

I was passing an intersection in my wife's 4-runner near the high school and I here this BANG! I realize a car sitting in the left turn lane chucked a soda bottle at the truck. It was still spinning in the intersection. With no traffic behind me I clamp the brakes and begin backing staight at him. He turns on the red to avoid me and heads up the road like a bat out of hell. I stop and head after him with everyone else in the intersection just sitting there like we were firetrucks. Now I should mention he was driving a big 96 Impala SS. He fishtaled as he left the intersection and over counter steered. He brought the ass end of the big car all the way around and was looking right at me as his car slammed into and over one of those big storm drains. Prolly 8-10 inch tall curb. The car hit HARD. The all 5 teens piled out as the car was going no where. And I drove by with a smile on my face remembering the days that I did such foolish things.
So PissBoy, as long as you learn something from your plight then its all good.

If you would have taped it you could have sent it in to a tv show and made money to fix the truck
Yeah i got my 03 5.9 when i was 16 (18 now) and it took me a while to get use to how squirly the back end gets. I went around a corner, lost it and luckily only slid into a curb and came out with a ripped tire and a baby scratch on my rim. But after that it never happened again so I'm sure they same will go for you man. Sorry about your truck.
the rams mine, the viper is dads, but i drive it just as much as he does... (only with him in the car) we bought it used last year... lets just say it only costed about 8 grand more than my truck... we fricken practically stole it, this guy wanted to get rid of it, it was worth about 30 grand or more than we paid for it... perfect condition too...

When i was 19 i wrote off my first Escort passing an old guy doddling along minding his own business...deciding he was going too slow i moved out to pass him....and as i was halfway past a guy pulled out of an intersection to my right and slammed into the side of my car!
Couple of years later i passed a guy on a country lane going to work one morning....it was a road i had known since childhood....went around a sharp r/h bend where, also since childhood, i had seen countless cars in the ditch and.....yep, lost the back end and fishtailed gracefully into the ditch!!(guy i had just passed drove by with a mile wide grin on his face...just like i would do now!!)
When i got my first Firebird (82) i was a little wet behind the ears about owning american cars over here...was on the way to a friends wedding following another friend of mine when we rounded a curve to see a vehicle on our side of the road overtaking a tractor...my friend, having a modern english car hit his brakes and slowed....me, having an early 80's american car that i was not familiar with hit my brakes and slid gracefully sideways into the ditch on the side of the road!!...we left it there and went to the wedding....when we got back to it the police had had it towed as "it was causing a distraction sir!"....
I guess it does go to show most of us have been there....i am a LOT older now and the key is that i HAVE learned from these lessons....tho sometimes i wonder!...

Hey, PissBoy, I'm only 21 so I'm still doing stupid [email protected]#$ all the time. But I am also a paramedic and do have to say that little accidents like that turn really bad in a hurry sometimes. But hey, no one got hurt (except the poor truck) and I bet it was kinda exciting. I know the first time I took a turn too fast in my Dodge Stealth RT that definately got the adrenaline going. Welcome to DT!!
