Racing with an Automatic

Is there a best way to race with an Automatic? I want to get as fast off the line as possible without blowing the engine. I have an 06 Hemi with the Overdrive/Towing feature that can be disabled.

Best advice I can give you is to buy a Superchips and raise your shift points...Other than that, I dont think there is much to improve on. I will turn
OD off every now and then, but with it off from a roll, it seems like the truck falls on its face after I shift into 3rd.
