This may be a no brainer but I'll ask anyway.....

My bearing on my A/C compressor is going bad. Instead of letting it seize and burn up my belt, I was thinking of just buying a "no a/c" belt and re-routing.

Is it that easy, or will it cause a problem? Don't have the $$ to replace the compressor right now...besides it's winter anyway.

quick answer is yes.

you may have to replace the entire compressor come summer, they do not like to sit idle for long without locking up.
