My dad has a 01 ram 1500 5.9l. Just curious as to what is the size of the stock mufller in/out.

Does that 2.5" out of the muffler swell up to 3" because our tail pipe is 3" dia.

But it is 2.5" in to the muffler, yes.

out of muffler to tail pipe is 2.5 then it goes to 3 inch for the rest of the tail pipe
