I ordered a set of Thorley headers to put on the 383 in my truck. I noticed that the oil dipstick tube attaches to the drivers side exhaust manifold and the heater hose support does the same on the passenger side.

What did you do to accomodate these attachment points when you changed to headers. I probably could retro fit something, but figured I would ask first so as not to try to reinvent the wheel.

On the dipstick, I bent the tube bracket a little and then clamped it to one of the header tubes with a gear clamp.
The heater hose bracket I shortened, bent and bolted back under one of the tappet cover bolts.
Worked OK for me.

I really like the gear clamp. I probably would not have thought of that.

I will keep the heater hose holder mod in mind and I might do a little looking at some of the heater hose clamps used on b-bodies that atttach to the alternator and fender as well.

My last 440 truck I didn't put any heater hose bracket on. A little floppy though. I'm going to look at those B body brackets too.
