My rubber seal thats in the CV joint part fell out and its exposing the ball and socket thingy. I know this is where the "mysterious" grease fitting is, but why was mine covered with the seal? I might be able to get it back in but im not sure. I bought a new ball and socket thingy but i might not put it in. My truck is at 77k and its never been greased and there is still a lot of grease in there.

SO, my question is.. do i need that seal? Or do i need to grease it at the 3-10k i've seen recommended if i don't have the seal put in? I can't find one anywhere except one place online.

I kinda need to get it back in too because its supposed to snow in a couple days..

i can take one.. i actually think i'll be able to get mine back on. I may drill out the grease fitting a size or two bigger on mine too because its literally just a hole. Weird.
