Anybody have any info on doing a propane conversion on a 2nd Gen Ram? I'm considering doing one on my '01 w/5.2 and automatic.

you would need to contact someone in propane conversions. You need to have your heads done to suit propane combustion and i'm not sure if they make them for the 5.2. You'd have to purchase the vaporiser, lock off filter, and all the lines and tank. All this would have to be installed by a certified technician to be legal. Plus I imagine you would need to goto an RV course to run propane. Not sure if this is even worth it.

I've seen propane conversions as long as 50 years ago so it's nothing new :gr_patrio

Not true, at my dealership, we run duel fuel engines (you can select which fule to use), run on either gasoline or propane. One of the engines we run in caterpillar forklifts are GM's 4.3L which is designed to run on propane. They also use ECM's with sensors just like our vehicles. But for the older stuff, it's mostly run by vacuum similar to a gas carburator setup, or venturi.
