I've got an 05 1500 2wd Hemi that is leaking power steering fluid. Looks like it's coming from the pressure hose. I called to get a price on a new one and the man asked me if it was conventional or hydro boost. Can someone give me a clue as to how to tell. I looked in the service manual and it doesn't help much. Only shows how to replace it. I appreciate it.

Whatever parts place you called should not have ask you that. Hydro boost is what a diesel would use instead of a standard vacuum booster. the diesel brake booster is using pressure from the steering pump to assist with braking.
A few people have converted their trucks but a 1500 will not have Hydro boost.

These trucks do have a common problem with the low pressure hose leaking at the pump which is normally fixed with a simple hose clamp.

I am one who converted to a hydroboost but if a shop cant see the vacuum line from the brake (vacuum) booster to the intake or the hydraulic hoses from the hydroboost to the rack and pinion.......RUN away.....fast.
