I have a 05 Durango with a 4.7. The PO 404 Code for the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control, Circut Range/ Performance comes on. Where do I go from here. I tried reseting the code but it comes right back up. ???????

Looks like you have to replace your EGR Valve.

Yep! Definitely sounds like EGR valve.

Yes it's most likely the EGR valve. I just replaced the valve in my 2005 4.7 durango. Had the same code, now gone. Search EGR on this forum for installation info. The wiper motor transmission assembly should be removed for best access. Be sure you clean the gasket off well, since it flakes apart at removal, a small mirror helps. Hey while your there, replace the spark plugs if needed. I bought the EGR valve from Rockauto, it came with both gaskets. To reach the valve it helps if you have toothpick arms and little hands (i don't) or a small trained monkey.issmonke

Just had mine done. $250 bucks later, at the dealer. Prior to that I tried disconecting the battery 4 or 5 times. I almost went as far as thinking about pulling the fuse for the instument cluster.
