Here are the 1979 W200 photo's.
It has a 6" suspension lift and a 3" body lift.
It will soon be getting a complete 1974 D100 body.
And will be rolling on 38-14.50-16.5 MT Baja Claws.

Enjoy::::

And here is the '06::::

What do you think???
Not bad for $300.00

Boy-O-Boy you weren't lying about the rust!!!! I've never seen a hood rust through like that....Not to mention the front of the box!!!!... Fl. weather must be Hell on truck bodies!!...Anywho Have fun with the rebuild...keep us posted on the progress!!!
man at the rust...wow...but hey its still frickin sweet
Looks like it used to be a show truck! Shame about the rust though. Also, I'm imagining it can do some hellified burnouts with those tiny tires! lol Good luck on it, and keep us posted!
Sweet truck. How did it rust out in Florida, or did you get it from somewhere else?
Well from what i can tell,,, It has been in Florida it's whole life.
It has a aftermarket sunroof which i think is the reason for the cab rotting out in the areas it did.
Also it spent alot of time on the beaches and the salt water did a number on the lower body.

The one thing that stumps even me is the fact that the frame is spotless, and i mean spotless.
Very minor surface rust on just the front parts of it but other than that it is all still black!!!

As far as doing hellified burnouts,,, I don't know. I would imagine that it would with the small tires but i have not had the luxury of hearing it run for a long period of time.
It sat for 12 years and i had to fire it up by jumping the soliniod and dumping fuel down the carb just to get it to fire. I needed to make sure that the lower end was good so i let it rip and no knocking at allwhen it fired up for the few seconds it ran.
It has a 360 4barrel, headers, weind intake, from what i can see it might be possibly built up but not sure. Judging by the stuff i'm finding as i look at and under it ,,, the guy who built the truck must of had high expectations for it cuase it was a beautifull truck in it's day.
Even the diff. covers are chrome and have blue anodized bolt caps on them.
Can't really see them till you get under the truck and start poking around.

I wish i could find some pictures of it when it was freshly built.
Its' definitly a head turner even now it doesn't look that bad.
If it wasn't for the drivers a pillar and the door dropping 6" when i open it , i'd probably drive it the way it sits. With some big tires of coarse.

Well i brought home the 74 D-100 doner truck tonight.
It is parked right next to the 79. It's funny how much higher the 79 sits.
Has to be a full 2 feet differance.

Well i figured i might as well get started on it so with that being said,,,,

I pulled the seat out of the 79 to get to the transmission tunnel for the 4x4.
I removed the front and rear windows.
I cut the roof off.
I removed the drivers door.
(It was falling off anyways so i helped it some more.lol )
I removed the hood.
I removed the wireing harness from the cab and nose.
I took off the tailgate.
I took out the tail lights.
And removed the fender flares.

Then i jumped on the 74,,,,

I removed the seat and rubber floor cover to expose the floor pans.
I vacumed it out.
I drank alot of beer.
I cut my finger on the roof of the 79.
I cut my arm throwing the rrof of the 79.
Then i called it quits.

Not bad for 3 hours of work.
I think i made alot of progress.

My friends are coming over tomorrow to help with the body swap.

I'll have plenty of pics to show what doing.

Untill then,,,,

Kris, sounds like an awesome project, man! You did more in 3 hrs than I did in two months of picking away at my 93.

Keep us updated, I am very interested in seeing some progress with your truck!
SWEET truck!!! I want to build up something like that some day, hopefully....
Damn, they must've parked it IN the ocean lol. That's the worst rust I've ever seen on a Dodge. And it definitely, definitely needs some bigger tires. It looks so funny w/ the Bushwhacker flares and itty bitty tires.

Anyway, good luck on the project.

Great progress! You dont waste ANY time!!! :rck: :rck: The grille in your 74 is probably the best one ever put on the nose of our old trucks (although the 91-93 grille is pretty tough looking as well ;) ).

I love the bottle art on the hood of the 74!! Kinda reminds me of the can art we collected when a buddy and I did the clutch replacement in my Dakota....

Too cool. Nice work.
Well I know i said that i was going to take a break till next weekend but,,,,

My brother in law brought over his preasure washer for me to use.

Needless to say i went alittle overboard.
The 74 body is spotless and the 79 chassis is real clean as well.
The chassis is so clean that i'm going to get a quart of chassis black from Eastwoods and paint it before the body goes on.

I'll have pics again soon.

:thatfunny Beautiful "Bottle Art" and "Can Art" :thatfunny
Well, this weekend is off to a slow start,,, but on a lighter side, Werdkat drove down from mid Georgia I believe 6 hours and bought the 318 aqnd 727 from my doner truck.
That was a big help in the buget factor of things.
Thanks Jason,,,,

This guy drove down here and as soon as he gets here he goes and crawls under the truck and starts taking things apart like he was on a mission or something,,, lol .

I'm glad i could help him with his project as well as him helping with mine.

Good turn out for both.

Well, I'll keep you guys posted on the progress with the w200.The next thing i need to be working on is cutting out the floor in the 74 d100 cab and welding in the floor from the w200.( the w200 is a 4x4, the tranny tunnel is differant)
I'll get pics as soon as i get it going and completed.

HAH what he didnt tell you we get down there and he has almost all the work done for me haha. I had to get started so he'd let me work on it some hahahaha. Great guy to do business with oh and thanks for bearing with me from last weekend funerals are the suck sometimes.

Oh I checked out that 318, I think i'm goign to leave it alone and just drop it in mine instead of ripping it apart. I'll leave that for my soon to be removed motor. Once again thanks Kris...if anyone ever gets a chance to go down to fl, they have some nice land spreads down there...seemed like horse ranches everywhere!!
