Hi,
I recently had an issue with my 06 Charger RT cutting off randomly. Turned out to be the PowerTrain Control Unit (PCU) overheating and shutting down. I got the PCU replaced and it fixed the problem but it has absolutely killed the performance of the car!
The dealer set the PCU up with the recommended specs but the car had no acceleration at all afterwards. I've had it back in 4 times for tweaks but it is still rough as anything. Previously the car was raring to go from the moment I took my foot off the brake. A small pump on the throttle would give me a lovely burst of acceleration. Now, since the PCU was replaced, the car is sluggish and a pump on the throttle results in lots of extremely high noisy revving and then maybe some very late acceleration if I'm lucky.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be? The dealer and my mechanic don't seem to have a clue and all their tinkering around doesn't seem to be making any difference. I just want my old performance back!
Cheers,
Londonsam
