Hello I am posting for my step-father. He has a 03 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. (VIN:1D7HU18D73J646483).
Occasionally the truck runs bad and misfires. We have had issues with that before and replaced a ignition coil & spark plug on the misfiring cylinder. Then a water pump. This cleared it up for a while and now it is misfiring again.
There is a code in the computer that is P 2161. Almost everywhere I looked said it was a speed sensor. But the speedo and cruise control worked. So the sensor must be fine. I did read somewhere that the P 2161 Code could be a injector low voltage code which would make sense with the current problems with the truck. Can anyone help me diagnose the problem here?

Thanks, Dustin
EDIT: I will say that the truck could use a tune up. (Spark plugs for every cylinder, fuel filter, etc) Its just that money is pretty tight here.
I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum area. I wasn't sure where to post this.
