My son has an 06 1500 with a 4.7 liter engine. Last night on the way home from work the oil pressure gage dropped to zero,he got no low oil pressure light or check engine light. He stopped and checked his oil and it was full.When he restarted the engine the oil pressure gage came back up and read a little higher than usual.Has anyone had a problem like this and if so what was the problem?I am assuming that it is a problem with the gage itself since he got no check engine or oil pressue lights and the engine continued to run fine.He also said that the outside temperature display went to zero and then returned to normal a couple of nights before the oil gage problem.Are there any known electrical connection problems possibly with the ECM.Any help would be appreciated. There is not much in common between the oil pressure and overhead air temp except they get their power from the TIPM. The only know problem with the oil pressure gauge is a sticky sender, but that usually happens when you start the truck, the sender sticks to the low pressure side but when you restart, it will free it and works normal.
