I am getting an intermittent oil light-not equipped with a pressure guage- and have plenty of oil, and obviously oil pressure. Sometimes it will go for 50 to 100 miles without the light or bell, and other times it lights up every five minutes. This condition can happen with engine cold or after several miles of operation. I'm thinking bad sending unit. Can anyone tell me where the oil pressure sending unit/oil pressure switch is located on a '94 GC with 3.0 engine?

Thanks a lot.

I had the same problem on my 3.8 1999. The sending unit is located adjacent to the oil filter. I had to remove the oil filter and use a large crescent (adjustable) wrench to change it.

You could also try a different brand of oil filter also sometimes these can be problematic . Purolator Pure one's L14670 work great on my 3.0 liter .
