North American Durango GTG!

I must say over the last year on the forum I got to know a lot of you Guys! A bunch of great people and very few not so great people! But let's concentrate on the good bunch!
How cool would it be to arrange a GTG where we all (or at least some of us) can meet in person and with our rides, families and whatever.

There are a bunch of us in my home country of Germany and a fellow in Iceland I would like to meet but that seem's to be a little difficult.

Also I like that there is no hate, racism or any kind of BS going on! We like us the way we are! I'm sure there might be some surprizes where you have a buddy that is Chinese, Greek, Mexican, Canadian or something else. But that really doesn't matter to me!

Let's try to keep this thread alive and maybe we find a point where we can say let's meet and do it. I don't mind driving a bit but we have some serious distance to cover!

Give me a head's up what you like to do!

I don't know the geographic's of all states to well, but Memphis or Tennessee sounds kind of central. A bit further north would work in my favour....

Does anyone know a nice little town with great scenery and nature in that area? At least I would like to meat somewhere outside of the big cities!

How far is that for you to go? North or South Dakota sounds interesting! My Dad has been there and liked it a lot.

wow not bad at all!! from dallas tx to north dakota is about 22.5 hrs about 1,300 miles

But for H4W is just in the state isn't he. and the others one here need to see how long of a drive it is for them. but i would not mind(speaking for myself and not the wife, kids would love it!) but then of course she is due in May! the sleepless nights again!! but yes i would drive that.

clipped !!! i was born with and i am dying with!! it is not like we would leave next month anyways!! could plan on like a yr or so. that way everyone can check on this also. be great to meet everyone and there families.

Ok this Irish American says lets make it Sturgis.....So much to do there. You have Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, Sturgis itself, the whole Black Hills area is so awesome with so much to offer. But by all means better make it like the week after the bike run. Too crazy then. And good luck with Hotel Stay or even camping that week. The week after is actually the best week to go to SD if you dont want all the hardcore crazy stuff. The week after bike week they have a nice family like event out in deadwood. Its called Kool Deadwood Nights. Next year the dates are the weekend of August 21-24, 2008. Look it up on http://www.deadwood.org/ for more information. My family and I did it last year and it was the best time ever. I even know a great campground right of the interstate that's is best to stay at. They have a great happy hour every night for the guest. The Gold Dust casino has one of the best Buffets. Ok I need to stop now......I can go on and on about the Black Hills. If you are thinking other locations, Grand Canyon and Vegas always work.
