Hello. I'm a new member here at Dodgetalk. I live in North Carolina. My parents own a 2002 Dodge Durango SLT 4X2 (Moms) and a 2000 Dodge Dakota (Dads). I'm 16, so I really don't own a car, hopefully I will get one before school starts (I'll probably be driving the Dakota). I hope to hear from you all very soon. Thanks.

I forgot. Does anybody know what the terms "SXT" and "SLT" stands for? I know R/T stands for Road and track.

they're just trim levels. slt is the higher class of trim. slt plus is the highest. sport and sxt are basically the same models, the more basic trim levels.

Originally Dodge offered the Durango packages as:

Sport Luxury Utility Truck - But nobody wanted to drive a SLUT
Sport Excursion Truck - But some folks felt uncomfortable saying SEX
Race Utility Truck - But no one wanted to be in a RUT

So they changed them to SLT, SXT, and R/T.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
