Well with it being cold out still, i finally had a chance to install my new HELLA 500's. I fabbed up some brackets for them and turned out quite nice i think. Let me know what y'all think.

One more thing, i tried painting the "HELLA" on the covers to match my truck, however, the paint just chipped off. Do you think using adhesion promoter would help this?

What did you attach the light bracket to? Did you just drill into the bumper? Looks tight.

Very clean install. 2 thumbs up on that one. Its the simple and creative mods that stand out the best, and you hit the nail on the head with this one.

I'd like to know details as well. I had the Hellas behind the grill on my '04 gasser and I miss them. I've been looking for a way to have them on my CTD....I think this fits the bill!

Sorry y'all for not getting back to ya. I didn't think it would get many reviews as it was "pretty simple"

MagnumPower- It's my "coldfront" which is also a custom mod by myself due to not wanting to pay an arm and leg

JeffB- Why would they dance? Pretty sturdy, actually

Paint has held up great, i did the prep/paint (RUSTOLEUM) in my garage and made sure they were fully cured before taking them outside (still in the teens)

There was already a "square" hole the bumper bracket behind the cover. I used some
1/8" aluminum and made an "L" shape putting it just outside the bumper, and i can still use TOW HOOKS :ylsuper:

Thanks for all the comments y'all!!

Those lights look good. If you plan on using them regularly, do you want to have to worry about removing the covers? Or will they be rarely used, hence the question about painting them.

Also, nice fog light bezels. They match mine. :D

WOW! Talk about standing out :D

About the covers, i need them on due to the fact that they are "real glass" and up here, they'd be toast!

I was thinking adhesive promoter or adding a flex agent of some source (dont' know where to get that though).

Looks good buddy. Very simple and cheap. I would have to agree about why paint the covers, you wont use the covers that much in the winter. In the summer, i would just remove them. Thats what i did last yr

looking good, but you are supposed to wire them to the truck...You won't get too far with that extension cord hooked up to them.

yes I know that is not for the lights :D
