I bought a 2001 Dodge Ram Sport 5.9 with 59,000 miles in Jan 2012. Not long after I bought it I noticed a problem shifting into reverse. Not everytime, but when I would park on a hill, truck facing downhill, I would shift into reverse and it would hesitate them slam into gear. Has anyone ran into this problem.

Haven't had that issue. ... Might try idling in N for 30 sec before putting in R.
... Maybe fluid is too low: to check; with "trans" FULLY WARM, truck LEVEL, put selector in each gear and pause for a few sec in each gear, repeat, ending with selector in NEUTRAL, pull stick and wipe, check.
... Trans doesn't pump fluid in P; always check in N, and "should" idle in N also. ... I always start mine in N too, even before the check ball to cooler was removed.
... Welcome to DT, and Im guessing 2G with 59k mi are getting pretty rare, good luck!!
