Well guys, after some delays I made it to the track.. missed about an hour and thirty almost 2 hours of test and tune. Sons tball practice ran over, then drove about 15miles from the house and forgot the helmet, so had to turn around and get it. Track opened at 6 and I didnt get there until 7:30-7:45, then had to set up the track intake and shortbelt.

First run and only run during test and tune, IAT's where 105-108*

1/8........9.1626
1/8mph..78.85

1/4....... 14.12
1/4mph.. 98.97

Run was garbage pretty much, as soon as I launched I spun, let out a little and it shifted to 2nd, then got back on it and it downshifted then went on. With all of that and still trapped 1.5 faster than before.. I knew it had better!

Run 2, bracket racing, dialed 13.70, IAT's 80*

Wish I could have had a few more runs to work on the 60', but given the circumstances I am pretty pleased for what is done to the truck. I am pretty sure it has 13.4's or so in it as it sits with some 60' work or just duplicate my 60's from last friday. But thats for the next time!

COMPLETE MOD LIST:
-intake and sc on 91 tune (5950 1-2, 6100 2-3)
-lts, ypipe, 3" cutout
-shortbelt
-headlight track intake
-275/40/17 nitto 555r's on off road rims
-no tailgate or spare
-pulled front sway
-clamped rear leafs

still have full interior and had clothes, headlight, tools, all kinds of misc. stuff in the cab. Wanna weigh the truck soon. But not to shabby for the mods. Ready for the sidewinder and a tune:rck:

Oh and forgot to mention I got the privledge of watching a southern hotrod, 426 supercharged srt-8 jeep run...

Can you say WOW, 11.30 @ 124, spinning all 4's, announcer was shocked! Was a nasty combo for sure!

Awesome! Smoking fast for stock cam motor

Check at the track, they should have scales there.

this I know! Gonna go back next week and make it ON TIME, and put some work in. Hopefully get some videos of the runs too:D

The 330' was 1/10th better with a .06 worse 60', figure my 1.91 from friday night would put me mid 13.4's Would be pretty sweet if I could manage to hit that.

Then maybe just maybe I can prove a few wrong that said I would never see 12's without all the bolt ons (efan, converter, and some said head)

Headed back to my short 1/8th mile tomorrow to put in a little more work on launching, see how low I can get it?

nice run for sure..but here's where the work start..goin from 14.0 to 13.5 is tons easier then 13.5 to 12.99...

You can say that again. I ran a 13.50 3.5 or 4 years ago. Its the 12's that takes some work

trust me guys I know how that is.. I have a neon that when I first bought it ran a 14 something at 106, worked somethings out and got down to a 13.5 @ 108... slapped some slicks on there 12.8 @ 112, did some tuning lower boost 12.02 @ 112, changed setup retuned, 11.91 @ 119. Its had mid 11's in it, but thats in the past. New motor is coming for it.

Can you say 450whp in a 2500lb car? should easily trap 130's and run 10's. Truck is just the fun tow truck.

I will get my low 13's high 12's though, I just take forever, never in a hurry though. Sent the money off for my springs and pushrods for the cam, gonna head back next wednesday and hopefully weather is the same and I can get 13.4's.

Then its cam and tune time!:rck:

does taking the tailgate off effect your times ?spare tire also.

tailgate probably weighs 20-30lbs, spare around 40 or so, front sway around 30. so I lost about 100lbs by doing that and gained a bit better weight transfer with the sway off. so yeah they affect em a little.

Tailgate weights 60 lbs, a 20" spare about 85 lbs, my front sway bar was 35 lbs, but I put it back on.
Generally you can get a tenth per 100 lbs reduction in the 1/4
Occasionally I've seen a tenth in the 1/8 per hundred, more normal though a tenth per 130-150 lbs in the 1/8.

Ok so I was a little off ha.. damn think dont feel like 60lbs to me, just awkward to grab for one person, and i have a 17" spare so not that heavy but still probably 50-60lbs.. I was just throwing numbers out there to give him an idea of how it would help by trimming weight.

What gear you running? Our mods are close, I'll be heading to the track in a couple weeks, I want to make sure my tune is straight first.

stock 3.92's running 25-25.5" drag radials which makes the gearing around 4.4x... according to hemiracer
