I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500. The automatic transmission shifts fine when I give it a little gas,but when I stomp on it it tries to shift in lower gear. It doesn't slip at all. Also when I have my ac on it goes from vent to defrost. all of this started after i degreased my moter. Would these 2 things have anything to do with each other,and if so what could it be? Already tried changing the filter and the throttle control sensor,didn't help at all.

Should shift down when stomped. .... Search for thread; goes to defrost *FIXED* . .... Issue/s prolly not related.

Yup, it's supposed to downshift when you stomp on it. Sounds normal. And x2 on the goes to defrost issue

i know it suppose to downshift. when you are doing 60 mph if you put it in 2nd gear it acts like it is in neutral, it doesn't slow you down but when you give it gas it goes it's in 2nd,when you put it in 1st it slows you down like it suppose to. Do you understand what i mean?

You shouldn't downshift to second or first while doing 60. Maybe I don't understand :-(
