I bought a Magnaflow 3" SI/SO stainless muffler to install on my '05 Hemi Ram, and I intend on doing it myself. however, before I start cutting and removing stuff, I was wondering if anyone has replaced just the muffler themselves, and what they encountered. will the new muffler just slip right on over the stock pipes? will I need some sort of adapters?

i'd rather not get it all apart and need to run to the parts store...

thanks.

Don't bother, you are asking for a real headache. If you don't have a wleder you will end up with leaks. The mufflers are much smaller and you will need to add pipe. It will cost like $50 to have a shop do it.

I agree. You're better off having it welded in by an exhaust shop. If you are set on doing it yourself, you will most likely need an extra piece of pipe since the aftermarket mufflers are often smaller than the stock mufflers, and also either a pipe expander and clamps....or just go with strap style clamps. By the time you buy the stuff you need to put it on, you're really better off just having it welded on.
