Here is something for all of you hi lift users out there. I wanted to mount my hi lift in my Ram for the time being, until I back half it and build the cage. I want something simple, and easy to install.

I have a 60" Hi Lift Xtreme which is the largest Hi Lift there is. It fits well in the back seat of our trucks. I really wanted it inside that way it wouldn't be a likely target for theft, and it would keep it clean and out of the elements.

Here is how I mounted it.

I used 1/2" bolts, some bushing sleeves and wingnuts to do it. First I measured it out and drilled some 1/2" holes in the cab. Easy day. Then I slipped the bolts through and jam nutted them in place. Then using another bushing sleeve and a nut I made a stand off on the bolt. That way the jack doesn't rest but partially against the floorboard of the truck. Here is the finished product. Cost's less than $10 to do, and you could even substitute 1/2" PVC for the bushing sleeves.

It doesn't rattle, move, or hinder leg room at all!
