Cant seem to make up my mind if I want crew or mega cab. What do most of you get? Pricewise, not much difference. Nice to be able to fold the back seats down for a flat loading.

Any disadvantages of getting a Megacab other then reduced payload and being slightly longer? Resale value?

Coming from a Megacab, the Crew wasn't a big change... it's still huge back there. I did miss the extra room behind the seat, but you do have the floor storage in the crew that helps. the underfloor storage in the crew is nice (unless you have the sub box like mine on one side)...

Unless you really need the Mega I think the Crew is fine. I know in my Power Wagon there is more than enough room. I do agree on the sub box comment though- it would be nice to have that space back.

To be honest I was a little concerned about the extra foot overall length of the megacab...especially parking in parking lots with not too much space between rows...

Is there more foot room in the mega compared to the crew? I haven't been able to measure either yet. I'm looking at getting a mega next year, but if the leg room is the same, I'd most likely go with a crew cab. Thanks!

Megas look funny weird in my opinion . When I was choosing mega was not on option due to that alone!

Now I know I am not a 2500 or 3500 guy, but I recently got rid of my '07 quad cab and bought a '11 crew cab. My dream truck for years had been a mega, but after checking out the crew I realized I would have plenty of space with the crew. I am 6'5" so the seat in any vehicle gets pushed all the way back. Even in that situation there is enough room for me to easily sit in the back seat. My dream truck is no longer a mega cab. I just don't need it. I also have to agree though about the sub taking up storage space under the seat, but it is worth it to hear the music properly.

Mega Cab Laramie Power Wagon..if they made one id trade
My truck in tomorrow lol.

Jameson,

While the Mega Cab Laramie Power Wagon is not available at this time, the Crew Laramie Power Wagon will start showing up next month. This press release was from last month.

Ram Truck today announced that the most capable off-road truck on the market and the reigning Heavy Duty Pickup Truck of Texas, the Ram Power Wagon, will now be available in two additional models—ST and Laramie.

The new Ram Power Wagon ST will offer off-road enthusiasts all of the Power Wagon’s legendary capability in a value-oriented package. The Power Wagon Laramie will offer more comfort and luxury features. Each of the three Ram Power Wagon models will have its own distinctive look.

Ram Power Wagon ST

The Ram Power Wagon lends itself to duties requiring reliability, durability and capability. The ST package will appeal to customers such as fire and emergency services, mining companies, oil exploration and forestry services for daily off-road duty. The Ram Power Wagon ST features single-tone paint, a black grille, black front/rear bumpers, black fender flares and black mirrors with optional clearance lamps.

The interior is unchanged from the ST trim level with the exception of additional controls for Power Wagon’s unique features.

Ram Power Wagon Laramie

The Ram Power Wagon Laramie broadens Ram’s hard-core off-road lineup, adding comfort and convenience features, such as leather seats, premium audio, dual-zone A/C and woodgrain dash and door panels. The Power Wagon package also includes a floor mounted, manual transfer case shifter.

On the outside, the bold exterior features body-colored fender flares, chrome mirrors, bumpers and grille, and unique badging. The addition of Power Wagon to the Laramie model gives the off-road linebacker a tuxedo and builds on the success and heritage of the Power Wagon nameplate.

I'm a Ford guy and the MEGACAB is what brought me into the Dodge camp - it has the look. Mine is a Laramie 3500 dually but I admit the MEGACAB does look strange in the single rear wheel config. Folks that have to sit in the back will appreciate the heated and reclining seat!

Obviously a Mega! I would nominate my wife as one of the worst drivers I have ever seen. She seems to be able to maneuver the big ol beast around as well as anything else. It even fits into the garage.

FYI the mega is NOT the longest truck in the Ram line-up. That honor belongs to a crew-longbed.

My findings when I thought about this....

Pros: Megacab has 3 inches more rear leg room, more room behind the rear seat, you can recline rear seats

Cons: short bed only.

I think the crew long bed is actually a few inches longer.... or maybe it was a longer wheel base... I cant quite remember. But after having a 07 Megacab SRW, I had to have a 12 Megacab DRW, I dont really need the long bed since I'd rather use one of the 3 trailers I have to haul stuff... it easier to load on a trailer and less likely to scratch something on the truck :)
