Does anyone know who sells low temp thermostats for the 24 valve Cummins?? All the dealer and Napa wants to tell me about are the high temp 195's, Im lookin to get a 160 or so??? Any thoughts from anyone????? :rck: :rck:

I don't think they make a thermostat lower than 180. I know in my 99 they use a 180 and in the newer 2G's they use the 190. I think they run in the region of $50+ at the Cummins dealer.
I believe the engine needs these temperatures to run correctly. If your looking to improve your cooling, try Evanscooling dot com. If you can provide more information, as to what you are trying to accomplish, it might help.

If you have some performance mods, like headers, computer, and intake on a gas engine, the lower thermostat is good. I don't know about the diesel engines though because they do run hotter.
