Has anyone installed a line out conveter to make use of an external amp for a sub? I have the GPS(rb4)/ Infintiy sound system - also where is the factory amp located?

yes, i have done it this one, as well as severl previous vehicles. they install right behind the head unit. Since I had the 6 disk changer I dint want to replace it. The factory amp is located I believe the glove box, from what i have heard very hard to get to. What I have done is that I have an amp that 1 channel runs my 2 kicker boxes behind the seats, and the other channel is running the front Alpine door speakers, and also the 2 kicker speakers in the dash with their crossover. teh rear side speakers and the center dash speaker are still hooked up to the original amp. Since i wanted run the door and dash speakers off my new amp, i had to run all new speaker lines to the dassh and doors, because the wiring that comes from the stock radio goes to the stock amp and can't be used. Sounds real good.
