Is your liftgate rubbing on your back bumper? Is the edge of the gate getting pretty nasty? Does it have the protective cover?

Mine wasn't rubbing but I did just recently install the protective cover on the bumper. I wanted to make sure I never got any rub spots on the gate because of the shorter gap between the gate and bumper with the protector installed.

I installed a piece of black door guard molding across the bottom of the gate! It can rub all it wants to now. If it does rub i'll know before it gets out of hand and destroys my paint. When the gate is closed you can't even tell it's there.

I really think a slight adjustment to the body side of the latch would take care of it...but it should be brought to the dealer's attention before you do it.
