Hopefully I can explain this, when I first start the durango and shift it into D everything is fine and I can shift to R and everything is well. But when I Start the durango and the first gear I shift to is reverse is makes a cluck sound sort of like when you engage the trans into a gear when the vehicle is on a hill. Hopefully this is normal because everything else works great, and I have no shifting problems....

Is the noise coming from the rear of the truck? A lot of Dodges seem to have a lot of backlash in the differential, which can cause the rear to make a (rather loud) clunking sound when shifting from D to R, or R to D. If so, then it *shouldn't* be a problem

thanks...thanks alot

I think that is where it's coming from. I was getting worried, i'll just enjoy my new (old) Durango till it dies, then worry about fixing it. Any other suggestions? Is my Bay gonna be ok?
