:help: I've been told my "IAC" (see title) motor is bad, car runs great on highway, as soon as I slow under 10 mph and brake engine stalls. Local parts store had no idea what I was looking for. Is this a dealer only supplied part? Any advice, suggestions places to purchase and me doing the repair tips were be awesome. Thx, hope this is correct :help:

IAC is the acronim for Idle Air Control. It is possiable that it has failed but should be tested before replacing. without any test equipment you could check it for minor movement. Start the engine, at start it should "flair" to near 1200 rpm and settle to 800-900 rpm. while running turn on a/c, monitor engine speed. engine speed should slightly increase just before compressor engages. IF these conditions are met, try cleaning the throttle body. Remove the throttle body and remove the IAC (The 4 wire plug component) for cleaning. The IAC is held in by t25 torx screws that have loc-tight.
If The IAC dosen't work or cleaning dosen't help seek out your local technician with the proper diagnostic equipment.

Good luck!!
