Hello all,
I have a 96 Ram 1500 and I'm trying to replace the ball joints. Problem is I can't get the axel nut to budge. I've tried penetrating oil, heat and a long 4' pipe on the end of my socket wrench (3/4" drive). The blasted thing won't move.
Anyone have some other ideas? Any help greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Jason Heck

Bigger breaker bar. Impact always worked well for me. You can pull the hub assembly without removing the nut, but the nut should come loose

What worked for me was to soak it in WD-40, then give it a few raps by holding a smaller sized socked up to the nut and pounding on the nut. This was after breaking two Craftsman breaker bars with 4' of gas pipe on the end of it.
