My dad has a 97 Dakota with the v-6. He needs to charge his A/C with some freon. Anyone know the process and which line to connect to? I've also heard that if you buy the freon from Autozone, they'll charge it for you in the parking lot. Any comments or suggestions?

The charging kit will only hook up to one port.....but to answer your question it is the suction or low side of the ac system you hook up to to charge it..

don't get the stuff from autozone, the r-134a they say they give you is could be butane or other cheap refrigerant. Go to a good repair shop and have them hook it up to their machine. But if you are going to do it urself, you always chage the lowside. Ur dad needs to charge his a/c system, tell me this, where did all the refirgerant go. You might have a leak. Add dye and check with a black light. Moslt likely its a evap or lines.
