hello all, new member here. i went to go look at what i believe is a ‘79 D100 with a 4 speed and a slant 6. im looking for a new daily driver and i was very drawn to this because of the OD transmission and the 6 cylinder.

problem is the owner of the truck has had it for sale for some time now so i gave him a call and asked him if he would sell it for 3500. he immediately told me 4500 was the lowest and hung up on me. am i crazy?? i’ve also never owned a classic dodge pickup but i currently daily drive a 24v cummins, so i don’t really know what these are worth. i’ll attach pictures. let me know what y’all think it’s worth and anything you spot about it.

edit: the 5th picture is where the rear wheels rubbed against the bed. i reached my hand behind the tire and could feel that the tire was close to the bed and when the suspension flexed.

it also seems like there was bondo repair on the driver side, but my guess was a dent not rust. new carburetor, runs and drives supposedly

It’s worth whatever someone will pony up for it . Lots of times a handful of hundred dollar bills will sway the owner’s opinion of what he’s willing to accept . Show him the money. Money talks bs walks. Maybe you can persuade him. I would want it to move for that money , at least to feel how the clutch works and listen for engine noise.
