How do I like my HTB2 turbo now that the truck runs????

This is the same turbo that I ran on my 03 SO when it made 500hp. It was nice, and spooled better than the stocker for sure but it didn't feel that much different in normal driving conditions. On this new truck, however, I swear it feels like I have added a fueling box to it!! It's awesome and I don't have my guages on yet but it's definitely making more boost than it ever did on the 03!! It screams now!!;) I sure am glad I kept it! I don't even think I need a fueling box anymore. I may just do the Tone Ring Mod and be done with it. Then I have no worries when it has to go to the dealer for anything. I like the TST but it would be a real pain to be laying on the side of the road somewhere trying to pull it off before a tow truck arrived.....

I definitely recommend saving up your pennies to get one of these...... :rck:

Maybe it's just the hood that has made the truck so fast.........

:thatfunny Probably.
Where did you get the HTB2? And how much did it run you? Did you need any special parts to bolt it on?
The only thing special needed is a plug for the wastegate wiring. Other than that it was a direct bolt on. On the 03 there were no wires because the stock wastegate was mechanical.
so how come you decided to go with a 6-spd?..
did you sell or trade in your old truck with the aftermarket trans?
I traded the 03 in with the DTT trans and the Formula1 injectors. Man I wish those injectors would have worked on the new truck!!!!!
I just wanted the 6-speed and I am very glad I did it. It's great rowing through the gears........
The Dodge / CTD Common Rails are coming right along. Lots of people were concerned that the 325/600 engines were going to be a bit trickier to BOMB versus the 305/555's due to the addition of the 3rd Injection Event.......seems as if the "dreaded" 3rd injection event does wonders for lighting aftermarket turbos on these trucks.

I have a friend with an '06 RAM 2500 CTD w/Auto and he laid down 541/1030 with a few boxes and a B1. :D

It seems to take about a year or so for all of the "tuners" to create power for a new vehicle. I think the 6.7 in a year or two is going to be one bad mutha!

I hope you are right but I am kinda doubting it because of all the pollution crap that is on it.
It will be tough, there is a lot of restrictive equipment going on these new trucks. EGR has been a stiff task for Ford's diesel and I know Cummins "has been doing EGR for YEARS!" but it's going to be new and tough I bet. It will be done, anything that's sold to the public will have a market and will have a profit to be made in it so someone will make it work. I am sure some will buy them and yank the particulate filter and reburn systems off and say to hell with the law and the gov't this is my truck and plug the EGR and unhook the sensors and run the holy crap out of them!!!
Yup! That's what the Ford guys do. Unplug the EGR and just live with the CEL....
its gotta sound badass when switching gears...hearing the blow off valve whistle. get a recording for us
Ya she sounds good.. Unfortunately when I put the TST back on today something is not working right. When I get on it kind of hard I can barely get up to 30 psi and it is surging and not making much power. It was getting dark so I decided to wait till the morning to check it out. Hopefully I just have a plug loose...... It still runs fine when driving normally...
