Was wondering if you could make it through the Northeast with studded snows on the front or not. Especially with a 03, aren't they a one wheel peel basically? No lsd

Well its going to be a torquey light car no matter what so if your not careful its pretty obvious. My brother drives one up here though with his stock wheel/tire combo and he does ok, got stuck once. But i wouldnt recommend leaving the stockers on because with the slippage hes worn those things down on the front quite a bit since summer.

Well, i spose i should really speak for the SRT crowd, as i got a non turbo neon.... but the SRT's turbo isnt spooled up at the rpms anyone in their right mind will be driving through a snow storm. So basically if you're paying attention and keep your foot out of the turbo I would think an SRT4 will drive like any other sporty FWD car (non turbo neon, for example). I've got the FWD one wheel wonder set up, and a decent powerband, (though no where near an SRT for top end, and a little low on torque) and sure i can spin at will in just about any gear on a snowy road, but i can count on one hand the times i've spun tires unintentionally so far this winter. the back kicks out occassionally on a slick turn (light rear) but nothing a little throttle and counter steer cant handle. BTW... a LSD neon will probably handle worse in the winter. you'll have a little more traction off the line, but if they start to spin in a turn, say good night. both tires will break loose, and you'll go sliding toward the ditch. just my 2 cents.

A plus is the fact it's a turbo charged 4banger... You can limit the power with your foot easier than in a powerfull N/A car. But I haven't seen real snow in years, I think the last time I was in some snow I wasn't even old enough to have a drivers license yet lol So no idea about how it handles snowy conditions. And you're correct the 03s didn't come with LSDs.

I have no problems with mine. The stock kdw's are horrible, but if you are a good driver its not a problem. Getting started is the hardest part, after that I use the E-brake on slow speed turns and parking spots. The front tends to push through the trun on slow speeds due to the 3 season tires. If you want it to handle the snow than get some snow tires like blizzaks. I have driven mine in the snow for the previous two seasons without getting stuck.(with stock kdw's)
