I am having trouble trying to figure out the wiring on the stock 3-prong headlight socket on my 99 D. I thought there would be a ground and low beam 12v signal but it seems to be alternating 12v, depending if the switch is off, parking, low, or hi.

Can anyone shed some light so I can tap into a low beam and high beam wire to trigger my ballasts? I plan on using these connect to relays so I can draw power straight from the battery. Should I use one relay for the 2 ballasts or run 2 relays, one for each?

Ah, figured it out. I only pulled out 1 bulb when I was testing and that was causing me problems. Also found out it's triggered by ground.
