Im New Hear And Thought I'd Share How I Got My A** Handed To Me Today. I Have An 04 Hemi Ram 2wd Thats Stock Exceot For A Flowmaster Muffler W/ Dual Tips. I Pulled Up To A Light Next To A Red 4x4 Late Model 2500 Diesel. I Noticed He Had Some A-pillar Gauges And Thought Should Be Fun-and Easy! Wrong!!! I Got Him At The Jump By About 10 Feet, But Then It Was All Over! This Truck Left Me Like I Was Standing Still!! I'm Talking 15+ Truck Lenghts And Still Pulling Away- I Couldnt Even Maintain The Distance! We Met At The Next Light And I Brought The Revs Up This Time-same Damn Thing!! I Have Never Seen A Diesel That Fast Before- I Was Just Blown Away-literally. I Think I Am Convinced That My Next Truck Will Be A Diesel!

yeah they're pretty fast...especially when tuned properly...i raced an 04' 4x4 in Gainsville, TX on Friday the 13th on my way back from Oklahoma....man...i stood no chance...all i heard was their Turbo Diesel whistling...
Yeah, i also got "served" by the diesel awhile back.
:D :rck:
Haven't lossed to a diesel yet. Ran one on the highway from 65 to 100mph with my current setup and he had a duramax with the edge diesel tuner and exhaust. Those can be fast but it costs alot of money to make that fast.
It was a Duraslug... hardly the capabilities of a Cummins. That, and it really doesn't take all that much money...
Fast

Dont Know What He Could Have Had On It, But I Did Notice The Exhaust Was Burning Very Clean, Hardly No Black Smoke At All. I Thought Maybe He Was Sprying It With Propane Or Something. All I Know Is That Sob Stomped A Mud Hole In Me-i'm Not Kidding, He Pulled Away Like I Was Driving A Festiva! I Figure At Least A 12 Second Truck!
I'm not saying it's not fast... but I don't think it's that fast. There aren't too many diesels out there runnin 12's.

And by late model... I'm assuming you're reffering to a 3G?
Yeah It Was A 3rd Gen
boo....Duramax Diesels suck...neighbor use to have an 03 2500 Duramax Diesel...he didn't like it much so he gave it up for an 04 2500 CTD...he liked it much more..
The truck must of been pretty quick to pull that much on a single cab hemi. They are usually pretty quick, but never a match for a properly modded diesel!
cummins and the isuzus are pretty much equal now in modded performance hp wise.12`s are not a stretch at all for either of the two.there are so many 12 second diesels running around now,you wouldnt believe it.....top of the game boys now are running 10`s with their trucks(although,,i wouldnt consider them street trucks at all)

i was at the dragstrip[ the other night and saw a festiva doing low 14's... thot i would just throw that in there...
Diesels create a ton of torque and properly tuned a ton of HP. This guy lives in my neighborhood and this is a quad-cab dually diesel that is running low to middle 13's. Granted he's done a lot of add-ons on the engine, but that sure is a lot of weight to move that fast!

My 99 4X4 QC runs high 12s on 285s. Actually it's fairly simple to do once you have the transmission up to par. It takes a good trans to handle 1000+ pounds of torque. I'm hoping to hit mid 11s with the addition of a ported head, cam, bigger injectors and a little nitrous.
