I have a 73 Dodge power wagon W100 318 engine I am replacing the water pump and the fan clutch and having trouble with the fan clutch removing the fan any tricks?
I use the v-belt wrapping it around the water pump/fan pulley and gripping both ends tightly in the left hand close to the pulley while my right hand works the wrench to undo the 4 nuts or bolts holding the fan onto the water pump. Do not store a clutch fan except in the same orientation as it is used on the vehicle . If you lay it flat the silicon oil is supposed to leak out. I always followed this recomendation and have had no problem in over 50 years of clutch fans.
