:help: :help: :help: OK. I need major help. I bought my truck over a year ago and still cant find a diagram anywhere. I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 with the infinity sound system. The last owner/retard somehow wired the new head unit into the parkling lights. When I have the radio on and pull the headlight knob BOOM radio turns off and parking lights go out. Then when i check the fuse its blown. BUT.. its not a general fuse etc. it is the fuse for the parking lights. I need a diagram showing the wire colors for the speakers in my truck. I have the ones for the head unit and all i need are the ones for "Diablo". PLEASE HELP ME!!! :help: :help: :help:

Addition to initial post

 With a little browsing I found a site that shows the different years dash/radio layout. When i looked at them i noticed that mines looks nothing like the 97 shown. Mine looks like the 94-96 dash. So would this change anything with the wiring. Now im even more confused

He probably wired into the lights for the dimming effect some radios are capable of doing. Those radios have a built in relay to keep from happening what you are experiencing. I would just remove/disconnect that wire. Tell me which schematic you need and I'll post it if I can. Hope this helps.

If the stereo is working fine right until you turn the lights on, then the previous owner used the illumination wire as his ground. Just cut that wire off and tape up the factory wire then just make your own ground to the chassis. simple enough..

I don't remember where but on this site in the 2 gen forum there is a manual for 2001 Rams. That might have the wiring diagram your looking for. I tried to upload the copy I have but it won't let me for some reason. Try doing a search for it. Sorry I couldn't help you more.
