I am still working on my "Project" truck . Some history I bought a 03 Ram w engine problems (engine would not turn). I got a next 4.7 engine from a Dakota (99-01) I am not sure, all the wiring was the same and the sensors matched .After replacing the engine , it would crank but the injectors and coil did not pulse . 12v is there when the key is in the run position . I changed the crank and camshaft sensors and still same response. I had a friend w a otc scanner take a reading on the PCM and the scanner detected no response for the crank sensor. We took the sensor out and passed a wrench in front of the sensor while cranking the engine and u could hear the ASD relay engage and the electrical connection for the injector would pulse .
After inspect the crank sensor hole , the tone wheel is not directly in front of the sensor but more to side of the sensor.
(1) Is that tone wheel in the correct position or is that the wrong sensor ?
(2) If that is the wrong tone wheel , could u change the tone wheel with out getting a next engine ?
(3) How to count the teeth on tone wheel
(4) do Dodge have a crank sensor w 90 deg (crazy right) :rck: :rck: :rck:
