I just changed my rear diff and was not able to find synthetic fluid, the manual says mopar synthetic. Can I still drive with just regular 85w-140?

I went all over and was only able to find the regular stuff and it is 85w-140. Should i just drain it and go buy the mopar stuff?

I'd be concerned about the winter weight. I see snow in your avatar. My worry would be sufficient lubrication in the mornings with temps in the teens (?).

It's a hard call, I've done this project and it's kinda expensive (four quarts of 75W-140 Mobil 1 cost $62). Plus, it's a bit messy (not as bad as the tranny drop 'n' drain, but still nothing to sneeze at).

go to any race shop...
find the closest racetrack to you..
you will find some shop who sponsors the track or cars... they will sell the fluid.
