The 318 in my friend's 01 ram finally gave out, so we found a low mileage 360 out of a 98 ram to swap into it. Got everything swapped, using the computer, injectors, throttle body, and wiring from the 01 with the sensors and distributor from the 98. I am not getting any spark. Any ideas on what needs to be changed to get it running?

the first thing to check is the ballest resistor. second is the control box. the distributor is next to check, the coil in the distributor should have 100 to 900 ohms. then check the gap on the paddle wheel and coil bar s/b .005-.008 inches. using a analog vom then set the vom on the lowest ac scale. put the vom probes in the dist wires and spin the shaft the vom should move just a little. then the two wires goeing from the body of the truck take the one that is bare and scrapit on a ground with the ign on it should fire the main coil. also check the that the control box is grounded. al so if you have a truck that came with a single ballest and some one put a 5 pin box on it wount work. heres the rule a 5 pin box MUST use a duel ballest res. a 4 pin uses a single ballest, but you can put a 4pin box on a duel ballest.
