Does anyone have a picture of a stock offroad packaged truck with a stock height 4 wheel drive truck? or even a 2 wheel drive truck? I found an off road packaged truck and i just want to know how high it will be over a regular height truck.

Off-road package from the factory doesn't add extra height, it just adds more aggressive tires, skid plates, and perhaps a PS cooler that's included in the tow package.

A 2wd might have 1" shorter diameter tires when compared to 4wd models (245mm width comapred to 265mm width depending on 2wd trim; ST vs SLT), but for a 4wd compared to another 4wd with off-road package, there's really no height difference.

Um last time I checked, every offroad packaged truck around here was higher than my old stock 99 Ram with 265's, even when the offroad trucks also had 265's.

This is correct. They sit aprox. 2" taller then a standard 4x4.

I don't recall that. Most 'off road' packages are just wider shocks and more aggressive tires last I checked. At least they are with Ford, except for the Raptor or Power Wagon which are purpose built.

Wider shocks? Are shock mounts are the same. There stiffer shocks.

Shock mounts are the same, but, the shock bodies are bigger and stiffer on the offroad. The factory offroad shocks are red and non-offroad are black if anyone still has them on their truck.

Off road packages started in 2001 and came with 17x8 rims with 5.5" of backspacing, 4.10 gears, tow hooks, skid plates, reinforced D44, from what I head a thicker axle tube on the 9.25, different shocks, 1.5"-2" taller coils, and the leafs I think have one or two extra leaves in the pack to give it more lift. Someone mentioned earlier that they came with 265's but I thought it was 275's, I could be wrong though as I do not own one.

So yes, the off road is 2" taller than a normal 4x4 1500.

Are you sure they come with 4.10 gears? Sounds like it might be a guzzler on the highway.

When I switched from 3.55 to 4.10 gears my truck got better MPG's running 265/75R16 tires. Truck also feels like it's a thousand pounds lighter because it takes less power to push it along.
