take it all off...
no i need the weight cause the last time i went i pull it off and my time went down cause i could not get grip
You don't have limited slip rear do you? Just a single trac...if I remember correctly. If so you should shoot out to Fort Worth and get one installed, definitely help your times. Jason at Texas Drivetrain installed a bunch, and I guess does really good work and cheap.
I'd leave it on. I've had major traction issues anytime I ran with it off.
On and up. You will have a faster time up than down.

Werd.
And put the truck into Tow/Haul.

I usually leave at the end of the last yellow since we have a drive-by-wire throttle.

Bury your foot and let the truck do the rest. :rck:
Just from goofin on the street, roll about 30% throttle till it starts to roll, and then nail it. You might have to wait a quarter second longer than me havin the HEMI and all, but my 4.7 will lay down 100' of one-legged tire trail if I just floor it from a dead stop. As for tailgate, can't help ya there.

Thats exactly what my experience has shown me... Taking it off did not gain me anything... and laying it down, I ran approximately .1 slower. It ran faster with the tail gate up.

SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM
guess I will stick my .02 in .... OFF!!! my fastest times are with it off..... get all the weight off you can and work your suspension to get the launch right... as you can see there are a lot of opinions here. I say, watch your MPH to see what effects the tailgate ( up down or off ), mirrors, ( in or out, reduced or removed ), wipers and antenna, ( on or off ), better MPH indicates better areos.... I have found NO difference in 60's no matter what I did to the tailgate or spare. but that is my truck... check it on yours.... experiementation is the name of the game
