GOt a quick question bout the fuel cap. When it stop breathing like it is surpose too, makes a vacume in the tank so when you take the cap off it sucks air in. Anybody know what kind of effects that could have on the truck? If any?

Thanks

It'll mess with your lift pump fuel pressure & delivery.
Check the top of your fuel tank and see what's blocking the fuel tank vent...it's an elbow shaped piece with a hole in it. You can just see it between the bottom of the bed and top of the tank with a flashlight.

I will have to take a look for that elbow. For the time being, My dad took the fuel cap apart and did something to the inside of it and it breaths now. But still going to take a look for that elbow.
Thanks Clunk

Time for a new cap. $20 at the auto parts store. When mine went bad it caused the CEL to come on.

Was that on your diesel? I didn't think a diesel has an Evap system.
