Hi to all and thanks in advance for any help.I have an 06 Dakota 4x4 that was pulling hard to the left then eventually smoking and stinking of burnt rubber. 99,000 miles first owner. Started from out to in. Bought new hub bearing assemblies, (doing brake job also), got new cv axles(one was bad). My problem is that where the CC axle slides onto the shaft coming out of the differential, I feel a small amount of play (like maybe differential axle shaft bearings going bad?) Where the pointer is in the pic. My question, can I drop the whole differerial unit and take it into a shop and have them inspect and fix it? I have the whole front end pulled apart and don't want to reassemble it just to drive it to a shop. Now to figure giw to post the pic.
