I am attempting to change my front brake pads on my pick-up which should be a "no brainer" but I can't seem to get the caliper off of the disk. It appears that I need to remove one or both of the 12-point bolts to do this, but I can't be them loose. I broke a socket wrench attempting to do so (yes I know I should have been using a breaker bar or impact wrench instead).
Are these bolts left-hand thread or just really tight or both? The last thing I want to do is break one off and then have to figure out how to remove it.
