Hi all,
I'm new to this forum, so please bear with me. I live in Western Australia and about 12 months ago, bought a 1987 Dodge Ram 150 model (full size bed). It only shows 130,000 miles original and apparently was a one owner car before me. These trucks are quite rare over here, with the only "full- size" pick ups being the F series Fords (sorry for swearing). Anyhow, I have a problem associated with the fresh-air pump, which had to be removed (another story), and now my truck doesn't want to idle properly and when warm, idles too fast (about 1200 rpm). Can anyone help me with the miles of vacuum hoses and what they all do, where they're connected to and what the hell I've got myself into? Unfortunately the air pump is u/s and had to be chucked out, so now I'm going to disconnect all the pollution stuff completely (not a problem here for the age of the vehicle).
Look forward to your help.
