Transmission is ATF +4, diffs are probably 75-140 full syn, coolant is zerex g05 or mopar HOAT only. If you have a basic 4wd transfer case it's ATF 4, if you have the auto 4wd premium transfer case it's a special dealer only fluid for the NVP246
Are synthetics really recommended? I have not changed any fluids yet othe than oil. I read somewhere that synthetic in the hemi is a bad idea. Also, I would assume climate would have something to do with it right? Cold winters, hot summer?
When should we be considering changing the fluids? I have 73000 k which is Roughly 46000 miles. And all I have done is oil.
Only thing synthetics are bad for is leaky old pieces of crap. Some stuff actually requires synthetics. The ATF +4 used by the tranny is a full synthetic spec. Diffs are due every 24k miles i believe by severe service, trans doesn't have to be done according to the manual unless used for towing but i say every 30-36k for that, think transfer case is 50k or 70k miles. Coolant is 5yr or 150k miles. Better to change to soon than wait for it to get nasty and clean up the mess.
For severe conditions. 30K-36K for normal driving conditions.
As far as synthetics go, I have nothing but synthetics in mine.
